How we do it…
CBT is a widely recognized form of psychotherapy that focuses on understanding the intricate relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Individuals can expect to challenge negative patterns of thinking and replace them with more positive and realistic thoughts. This therapy approach emphasizes the belief that by altering the way we think, we can effectively improve our overall mental well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
This evidence-based treatment focuses on teaching individuals skills to regulate emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, tolerate distress, and engage in mindful awareness. DBT emphasizes a balance between accepting oneself and the need for change, encouraging individuals to develop a dialectical perspective. With its emphasis on practical skills and acceptance, DBT empowers individuals to create positive changes in their lives and find effective ways to manage difficult emotions and behaviors.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Positive psychology is a scientific branch of psychology that focuses on the study and promotion of human well-being, fulfillment, and happiness. By investigating aspects such as optimism, resilience, gratitude, kindness, and personal strengths, positive psychology aims to help individuals thrive and reach their full potential. It emphasizes the importance of cultivating positive emotions, relationships, and a sense of purpose in life.

Attachment theory explores the profound impact of early relationships on human development and how we foster and maintain crucial relationships as we age. Through counseling, we’ll explore the differences and effects of early influences characterized by trust, warmth, and responsiveness versus those fraught with conflict, shame, or ambivalence.

What is psychotherapy?
Basically, just a fancy way to say “counseling.” At its core, psychotherapy is an evidence-based approach that combines compassionate listening, guidance, and concrete strategies to help individuals better understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. This collaborative process within a safe and confidential space cultivates self-awareness and empowers individuals to effectively navigate life's challenges. By exploring underlying issues, psychotherapy can aid in managing and reducing symptoms associated with mental health disorders, improving relationships, fostering personal growth, and enhancing overall well-being. Through the power of therapy, individuals are given the tools to transform their lives and emerge stronger, more self-assured, and capable of creating profound, sustained change.
What can I expect from therapy?
Engaging in psychotherapy can be an insightful and transformative experience, and it can also be incredibly intimidating to be so vulnerable. During therapy sessions, individuals can expect a safe and confidential space to share their thoughts, emotions, and concerns, without fear of judgment. When you’re under our care, you’re in the driver’s seat. You dictate the course of treatment with collaboration and input from your therapist. There is no set agenda - together with your therapist you will create a plan that will most align with your goals and expectations for counseling.
