Counseling 101…

How long are therapy sessions?

Counseling sessions operate on the “50-minute hour”. Sessions are just under an hour to dedicate adequate time for you while leaving therapists a few minutes to grab a quick snack, hydrate, or head to the bathroom between sessions.

Who do you treat?

Adults 18+.

How often do we meet for therapy sessions?

As a general rule of thumb, most therapy sessions begin at a weekly frequency and move to bi-weekly or monthly as your functioning improves. Your initial assessment will determine a lot of this, and it’s always a collaborative conversation based on need, finances, and commitment.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept BCBS, CIGNA, United Healthcare/Optum, TRICARE, and Aetna behavioral health plans. You may also use your out-of-network benefits if your plan is administered by another carrier. If you prefer to maintain more anonymity, we offer sliding-scale cash prices. Don’t worry-we’ll help you at every step of the process.

What kinds of payments do you accept?

All payments are handled through your online portal, which you’ll have immediate access to upon scheduling your initial therapy appointment. You can store debit/credit cards, HSA, and FSAs conveniently in one place.

Can I bring a family member?

Of course! The world is your oyster, and you’re the boss. If you feel more comfortable with a co-pilot, we’re happy to oblige. Plenty of clients find bringing a family member or partner can help with accountability or offer more information to your therapist from a different perspective.

Are the sessions confidential?

Yes. In all forms of counseling, the therapeutic relationship is built on a foundation of trust and safety. This cannot be accomplished without the assumption of confidentiality. There are some legal exceptions that our therapists are bound to that will be discussed at the onset of treatment.
